Until 29th January, Your body of work is the first solo exhibition of Olafur Eliasson in South America. Conceived by the artist especially for the Brazilian city of São Paulo, the exhibition features eleven site-specific installations that invite the public to experience perception of color, spatial orientation and other forms of engagement with reality. I found video and photos made with mobile phone, which i really like because of their rawness, including the children playing with lights.
This is one of the three projects and is located in SESC Belenzinho, venue that has been inaugurated in December 2010. For this place, Olafur Eliasson created the new work Sua fogueira cósmica which means Your cosmic campfire. As we know, a motor causes an aluminum, film and glass structure to rotate slowly, creating floating projections on the walls of the space so that subtle, fleeting tones enable dynamic sensorial color perception mechanisms to be experienced. He created some of the most involving works that i have ever experienced, makes spaces alive, walls full of poetry.
